BSoft material deforms rather than concentrating force on a point. When a soft gripper grasps an egg, the material conforms to the egg's surface, distributing contact pressure over a large area. The pressure at any point is low, so the egg is not damaged. A rigid gripper, by geometry, contacts the egg at points or edges, concentrating force, causing cracks. Compliance (compliance = deformation) is fundamentally safer for delicate objects
