Building a modular system requires disciplined naming conventions, clear documentation of each component's purpose and usage rules, and a hierarchy that moves from the smallest elements (icons, labels, colors) up through mid-level components (cards, form fields, toolbars) to full layout patterns (dashboards, detail pages, onboarding flows). This hierarchy — sometimes called atomic design — ensures that complexity is managed at every level.
